Potato Field

In late spring I passed this freshly planted potato field. The perfectly laid out furrows, highlighted by shadows from the low evening sun, left the landscape undulating.

When I first drove passed this field, part of Waterloo Farm near Sproxton, North Yorkshire, I was with my daughter and a pony and unable to stop and take the photograph. I was so struck by the scene I knew I had to return and was lucky to catch the same light the following evening.
