Bespoke Service – Re-making, re-freshing, re-determining
A piece of jewellery – perhaps inherited or gifted – often possesses sentimental value but may not suit our style or lifestyle. Louise Dwyer has a great deal of experience in re-imagining these special pieces: taking the original, learning its story and creating a design with her customer before re-making and re-freshing into a new and wearable design.
Louise is pleased to provide a personal service for a piece of jewellery that is unique and specially crafted repurposing materials and stones allowing linking elements of the process with the ideas to create an individual piece of jewellery that holds its own story. This bespoke service combines the stories and characters of the people who commission the work.
Says Louise, ‘I enjoy finding the ways to construct specially crafted and individual pieces of jewellery for my customers. I’ll combine different elements to create a unique piece that tells its own story. It’s a privilege for me to create new pieces from jewellery that would otherwise be sitting in a box and having little use.’
In a recent commission, Louise worked with a customer to re-imagine an unworn sapphire ring. The customer loved the stone but as her lifestyle and life had developed new perspectives, she wanted a new wearable piece of jewellery. Louise created and designed a brooch with landscape imagery – a large blue sky and a white gold sea to symbolise the new life and horizons her customer was embarking on.
